drew and jacob grow up.....TOO FAST!

ok, so its been a while since i have posted. i am sorry to those of you who check my page each and everyday in hopes of hearing something new from our wonderful family. LOL ;)

anyway, things have been so busy! drew and jacob started kindergarten!!! what?!?!?!?!i know, i can hardly believe it. they go from 7:45 to 2:45!!! everyday!!!they love it! they are in seperate classes. they actually left the choice up to me. i was told they had to be in different classes, and then they put all the pressure on me to decide. they did really well in pre-k with their own teachers, and own friends. it really showed to give them a sense of independence, and accomplishment. so i went ahead and decided to do the same this year. then i felt guilty. they are best friends. they might want to share this first year of school together. so i asked them. they said they wanted to be together. my heart sank. well, that all lasted about 5 minutes. we were walking to the car and they started to argue about something (not sure what) and as i was getting them buckled in, drew says "i dont want to be in the same class anymore"....jacob follows with "me either!" problem solved. they love their new teachers and friends. they insist i dont make a lunch for them. they want to go through the lunch line just like peter parker from spider man. im pretty impressed with the meal options too. their days are much longer, and we are getting used to waking up SO freaking early! for those that really know me, you know i dont get up til 9. so 6:30 was a rude awakening. but im finding i get a lot more done, and i feel more accomplished at the end of the day. so, i guess its a fair trade off. this week has been long. i havent really known what to do with myself while they are gone. im so used to chasing after 3, and now its just me and grace. she loves it though. having me ALL to herself. occassionally she will look for them. and she is always excited when its time to pick them up. i am too! when did they grow up so fast? its seems like it has happened over night. and while yes, i do know that they are still so small and not LITERALLY grown up :) it still feels like time is moving too quickly. there is not enough time in the day (most days atleast, sometimes there is more than enough hehe)to savor each moment with them, and to make sure i am teaching them all they need to know to become good men one day.

on a side note......grace loves to aggravate jacob. she totally knows what she is doing, and gets great pleasure out of doing it........it goes something like this....i picked up the boys from school

Me:how was your day guys?
jacob: wellllllll
grace: wellllllll
jacob: ummmmmmm
grace: ummmmmmm
jacob: GRACE STOP COPYING ME!!!
grace: dace sto coing me
jacob: now grace!!!!!!!!!
grace: now dace
jacob: MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!
grace: MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

its totally hysterical.. you have to hear it to get the full experience of laughter. its so hard to keep a straight face when telling grace not to do that to jacob and that he doesnt like it. she doesnt ever do it to drew. he doesnt get mad at her for things like that. but jacob, she knows she can really get to. so she takes full advantage of the opportunity EVERY time he talks.

my life is full, and i love it. i love being a mom. i love all the silly things my kids do each day that keep me going. they remind me not to sweat the small stuff....and its all small stuff. they are my heart.

ROAD RAGE

Last night we were hit with a HUGE storm....HUGE! So today, we wake up (with 10 mins to get out the door) and there is NO power! so there were no alarm clocks. no lights, no electric shaver, no microwave for a bottle, oh, and NO hot water for quick showers! so we all get ready as fast as we can, with what we have. well christian does. i opt to stay in jammies with the kids until we get back, hoping for electicity and water once we are home. what a pain it is to have one car! so we take christian to work (he LOVES his new job, btw) usually takes about 15 minutes to get there. it took an hour! in case you dont already know this, i am one of those people who cannot have any type of bumper sticker on my car proclaiming my faith in God because of my "behavior" in traffic. ok, its not that bad, but....people cant drive. i am forced to think i am the only one who should even have a drivers license and its expired! it wasnt even traffic, all the street lights were out from the power lines down. but it made me think of the last time i was in traffic, and some guy cut me off, i yelled and the boys say "mom, why are you yelling?....he cant even hear you!" i laughed, and then lectured them that its not nice to do that and that mommy shouldnt have done that. its a bad habit i really need to learn to control. or my children might turn into one of those people you see on the news pulling some guy out of his car in the middle of an intersection because he didnt use his blinker!

needless to say, we came home to power! yeah! got the kids ready and ran off to school. and we still made the carpool on time. what a morning! the day has somehow mananged to stay at that pace, i just have a minute while grace is taking a nap thats way too late, and im sure i will regret it, but the girl is sick, and needs it bad!....is it bad to say that i need it too??? anyway. there you have it. gotta get back to the boys!

HERE YOU GO SARAH....you asked for it!

So, we have been VERY busy these past couple weeks, thus leaving some of you out on whats happenng with the Creane family. I must say though, its nice to know you miss us!

Lets back track. We left off at open house. So that means Spring Break was next. We didnt go anywhere, of course. But we did have some fun. We flew kites, had a trip to the ice cream shop, went to the movies (courtesy of nana and papa) we even had our first sleep over with bella. That was fun - they managed to take out EVERY toy they own, and i have been cleaning up their mess ever since! but it was so worth it. they loved having her over, and now want to have a sleepover with ALL their friends. Dont think I'm ready to take that one on yet. We had picnics, and bubbles, movie night, we pretty much did everything that we could do! It was just nice to get some quality time in. A break from the day to day running around! I love my boys, and grace was happy to have them home from school too!

Easter was the perfect ending to our break. We had a blast! The kids had so much fun preparing for the Easter bunny, who they call "Easter." We tried to explain that that is the name of the day, and the bunny is just referred to as the "Easter Bunny" because he comes out at Easter. They, however, did not like this explanation! They insist that his name is Easter and that we are wrong. Apparently they were right! The Easter bunny left a note that night, and at the end wrote "P.S. you can call me Easter." Ive never seen such big "I-told-you-so" expressions on a kids face as the ones they displayed. It was pretty funny. Anyway,we had fun dying eggs,(and thankyou Jacob for finding a hard boiled egg that grace must have run off with under the couch! That would have been real nice to find a week later!) and getting loaded up on sugar. We set out a carrott, and the kids rushed off to bed willingly, for once, to wait for him to come. It was such a nice day. We had a nice breakfast, the kids hunted for their baskets and eggs, everyone got ready for church with no tantrums! The church service was beautiful! I really felt the Spirit, as I listened to the talks and reflected on the days true meaning. And if the day wasnt already good enough, Grace stayed in the nursery all by herself! Allowing Christian and I to enjoy our class together, and not have to worry about who had to walk the halls with her the last hour. It was really nice to be able to go to class together, and learn more of our Savior and the Resurrection. I love any opportunity that we have to grow with one another, spiritually. I just love the feeling it gives me, and makes me want to have more moments like that. So, thats one of my new goals. The boys love their Sunday school class. And I couldnt be more proud, as they memorized their 1st Article of Faith! Of course, they are totally smitten with their teachers, and the teachers just love them to pieces. At the end of church, we picked up Grace, and she DID NOT hate me! WOW! I was very surprised. I thought for sure she would let me know how mad at me she was for leaving her, and that she would never forgive me. But she loved it! Then off to nana and papas for another egg hunt, more sugar, and a story of the Savior presented by papa. He past around thorns for them to feel, rope, and nails. They really got into it, and surprised me at how much they listened (considering they were on their second basket of candy) Later that evening we went to my parents house, mimi and papa, and they were telling them about the story of Christ and His Resurrection. They were telling them about the nails that they got to feel. The ones that were in His hands.....Jacob proceeds to say "but there wasnt blood on them." Drew adds " yeah, papa wiped it off first." So I guess they took the props literally! I couldnt help but laugh. A third basket of candy later, and it was time to call it a day!

Oh, and yes!!! I am ANOTHER year older! We celebrated my bday, with me in bed. I was sick! Ugh! I felt better though a couple days later, and my mom took me shopping for SHOES! I got the most fabulous, wonderful, amazing black patent super high peep toe heels. they are a knock off of marc jacobs! i could sleep in them. im in love with them. i was just born to wear heels. i heart them! (sigh) then my other mom (vicki) came over with all types of goodies! and we are supposed to do lunch, but i had to keep rescheduling, because the kids then got what i had and it circled around once more, before finally seeing its way out. so hopefully we can still go. i need to call her! so yeah, that was my bday. and to all of you that missed it, dont worry about ever calling me again, i dont want anything to do with you. hahahahaha. i am TOTALLY kidding!

The best news is: CHRISTIAN GOT A NEW JOB!!!!! AND HE LOVES IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its so great. He is so happy, and it has really been an answer to our prayers. I feel so blessed, and know things are only going up from here! (about darn time)

I think thats the best way to end this post, that has turned into a novel! I will try not to wait so long to post again, so i dont get this far behind!

Open House!!

Today was Drew and Jacob's first open house at school. And I will just go ahead and tell you now, that in the frenzy to get out the door, as we were running late (per usual) I left the camera on the kitchen counter. So there are no pics. LAME, I know.

Anyway, they were so proud to show off all their work, their rooms, and different centers that they get to use each day. There is a kitchen center, and they actualy participate in making real food. There is a computer center, art center, book center, etc. They get to do so much. And while I have been in their classes before, I never really got to see all that they get to do each day. I was really impressed with how many resources are available to them to apply to their learning. In a way that they find easiest for them. They get a certain amount of time each day to go to whatever center they would like.."centertime" and of course thats their favorite. Drew said he always pics art (no surprise) and Jacob hops around all of them. We have had parent teacher conferences this week as well, and the teachers are just floored at their artistic abilities, and how smart and sweet they are. I was a glowing mother tonight for sure as we walked the halls of the school, and saw their work hanging up on display. I am so proud of them! After the open house, we skipped over to the gym for book fair! It was a fun nice treat for the kids....Grace even got to get a book, and she was THRILLED! She didnt want to leave!

I am so thankful for these sweet children that I have been given. I am so proud of them. They are excellent students and really love to learn. They take pride in it too, and I like that they feel a sense of accomplishment. I, however, am feeling more accomplished i think!

I'm done bragging now!

Here's to 7 years!

WOW! I can hardly believe it! Married 7 years! Where does the time go? As I have been reflecting this week on our past memories, and our relationship today, I am entirely greatful for the man I married. We have really been through SO much together. I think our marriage is a true testiment of endurance, patience, faith, forgiveness and love. We kept it simple this year. We cuddled up together under the blankets, and watched movies after the kids were asleep. I dont know that I even watched the movie though, as I was just content hearing his heart beat, as I lay there with my head on his chest. It was in that moment that I fell in love all over again. It came at the most perfect time. And I will never forget it. I love him.

TEXAS WEATHER

Well, you would think after living in Utah for 5 years, that snow would be no big deal to us.....but I was wrong! Maybe its the fact that it was in the 70's all week, and then out of nowhere, a cold front came in that brought snow our way. Texas in March! Thats Texas weather for you! And in good ol' Texas fashion, it warmed up and was nice and sunny today. While its still too cold for my taste, it was nice to have a brief flurry.....and enjoy the smiles it brought to the kids faces as they stuck out their tongues waiting to catch just one snow flake. Its those moments that you cannot buy that mean the most. Absolutely priceless!
